Revolutionary Storage Area Networking (SAN)
Coraid’s EtherDrive® SR1521 Storage Appliance is a fast and simple alternative to iSCSI and Fibre Channel RAID boxes. EtherDrive® storage uses the open ATA-over-Ethernet (AoE) storage protocol. AoE is a simple way to move storage out of your servers and onto an Ethernet storage network. With AoE, disk read/write requests are placed directly into Ethernet frames. The AoE protocol doesn’t need TCP/IP so its easy to process and doesn’t require special network interface cards.
EtherDrive® storage is accessible and shared by any server/host machine attached to the storage network. Disks inside the storage appliance are assembled into RAID volumes and presented as AoE block storage devices. Servers discover and mount AoE storage devices by using an AoE software driver. The AoE driver presents an AoE device, to the host OS, as a local disk drive. AoE storage is fast and can be used like any other disk drive.
Unlimited Storage
Users save money by installing their own disk drives. The SR1521 storage appliance accepts any standard SATA or SATA2 disk. As disk capacity increases, higher density disks can be installed quickly and easily.
There are no limits to how many disks can be attached to a server. There are no constraints to how big an AoE storage network can be expanded. Each time a new EtherDrive® Storage Appliance is added to the storage network, more processing power is added and therefore aggregate throughput and IOPS performance of the storage system is also increased.

Coraid is proud to introduce its CLN21-FT Fault Tolerant Linux NAS Gateway. CLN21-FT NAS Gateway combines the advantages of unlimited file storage with a dual CLN21 configuration that has no single point of failure. Storage is attached to the NAS Gateways using the AoE protocol and standard Ethernet networking, creating a file storage system with unlimited capacity.
Automatic Fail-Over
The CLN21-FT uses a heartbeat connection between two CLN21 NAS Gateways to monitor the system status. If the backup CLN21 loses the heartbeat signal from the primary CLN21, it shuts down the primary CLN21 via the power control unit, and takes over the IP address of the primary unit and mounts the storage. Switch over is seamless to the clients accessing the NAS Gateway.
*When ordering please specify either 110VAC or 220VAC power control switch.

Coraid is proud to introduce its CLN21 Linux NAS Gateway, using our own Linux distro for NAS. Storage is attached to the NAS Gateway using the AoE protocol and standard Ethernet networking, creating a file storage system with unlimited capacity.
NAS Gateway
The CLN21 is the first in a family of high performance Linux NAS Gateways designed to work with EtherDrive® Storage. CLN21 is a 1U Linux box pre-loaded with Coraid’s Linux NAS distro. It includes lots of application specific “HowTo” that will allow users to get up and running quickly. The unit has four GigE ports. Two ports connect to NFS and CIFS clients on the LAN, and two GigE ports connect to a dedicated storage LAN consisting of an unlimited size pool of EtherDrive® Storage. Separating the storage from the NAS server eliminates wasted captive storage inside the server. This increases storage reliability, and makes the whole system scalable to multi-petabytes of storage.
Unlimited Storage
Using Ethernet thousands of disks can be attached to and accessed by one or more CLN21 NAS Gateways. A storage system can be expanded gradually, one disk at a time. An unlimited number of filesystems can be exported, each mounted filesystem being up to 9 million TB. Single file sizes up to 9 million TB can be stored in any single directory.
File Sharing
Files are shared and accessible to Unix, Linux, Solaris, Apple and Windows clients using the NFS or CIFS file sharing protocol.
Linux Distro for NAS
Coraid’s Linux distro for NAS is a modified Debian distro highly targeted to be an NFS server or SAMBA CIFS server exporting ATA-over-Ethernet storage. With Coraid’s Linux you get a distro that is easy to configure with lots of specific “HowTo” all in one place. This saves you time and effort, and you also receive Coraid’s top rated customer support.

We are a reseller and systems integrator for the Coraid range of products.
AoE: The fast and inexpensive alternative to iSCSI and Fibre Channel SAN.
Coraid EtherDrive® Storage Products connect to the network using standard Ethernet. With EtherDrive Storage you can create a fast shared storage system from a few Terabytes to multiple Petabytes.
EtherDrive® Storage Appliances are available with 10 Gigabit Ethernet interface when applications require maximum storage access speed.
Coraid’s simple Logical Volume Manager appliance is also available for EtherDrive storage, allowing a scalable pool of physical storage to be virtualized into a Logical Volumes of any size.
EtherDrive® Storage Products use the open ATA-over-Ethernet (AoE) storage protocol. AoE is a simple, non-routable protocol designed specifically to transport SATA disk commands over Ethernet. EtherDrive products offer internal RAID (0, 1, 5, 10), hot-swappable disks, and support standard SATA disk drives.
AoE delivers a simple, high performance, low cost alternative to iSCSI and FibreChannel for networked block storage by eliminating the processing overhead of TCP/IP. AoE is natively supported in Linux 2.6.11 and beyond.
